Hello, back to school and back to meal planning
During the holidays we've been so busy that we've eaten from the freezer, and had seasonal veg from the farm shop. Lovely! So for this week:
Thursday – quiche, garlic bread, salad
Friday – HM pasta with smoked salmon and gorgonzola
Saturday – *jam doughnut* muffins
HM pumpkin soup, seedy bread, cheese
Purple sprouting broccoli and pinenut pasta
Sunday – pancakes – savoury and sweet
Roast chicken, roast potatoes, sprouts, veg; last of the HM Christmas puddings
Monday – Gingham’s lentil lasagne
Tuesday – chilli and rice
Wednesday – Gingham’s swede and lentil bake
Thursday – HM pizza
Friday – puff pastry tartlets (made with seasonal veg from the farm shop)
We're decarating today, so won't be out enjoying the sunshineDS will be making scones this afternoon, so we'll have them warm from the oven with clotted cream and HM strawbeery jam, with a pot of tea, under a tree in the garden. We'll also make a fruit cake for later in the week.

Last week went well - until last night when DH rebelled. I think he used the unappetising moniker of 'hastily constructed fish stew' as an excuse to slip in a quick pint whilst waiting for Chinese - he is such a monkey!
Breakfasts and lunches as normal - still ploughing my way through the rasp puree - may try with bananas to ring the changes a bit, but suppers may be a bit erratic is DH is in the middle of lambing AND trying to finish a flat we are renovating, so he'll be working extra-long hours.
Sunday - Fish steamed on top of ribbons of sweet potato, leeks, courgette & carrot
Monday - Chicken Kiev, creamed spinach and new pots
Tuesday - Wild garlic & blue cheese flan & broccoli
Wednesday - Smoked Haddock Chowder
Thursday - Pasta, feta & peas
Friday - Sausage egg & chips (DH reward for sticking to plan so far!)
Saturday - Was going to be Lentil & Veg curry - will now be Lentil, veg & lamb curry to keep DH happy.
Wish I could be as organised as thriftlady on puddings, but DS1 is going through a stroppy phase and so am I - so the rule is that if anything has to be thrown in the bin there is no pudding - and if it all gets eaten up he gets his absolute fave - chocolate icecream. We are in week 2 of heels dug in, and it looks as though we may be close to breakthrough...Is it home time yet?0 -
Right, lets see if I can remember. List is in my bag and i cannot be bothered to get up and get it.
Saturday - HM Chicken Curry, Noodles (from chinese supermarket - yummy)
Sunday - BBQ - Chicken Breasts, Pork Steak and Sausages. Corn on the Cob and more noodles at request of girls
Monday - HM Pizza & salad
Tuesday - Roast Pork, Roasties, Yorkshires & Veggies
Wednesday - Sliced Pork (Leftovers) in Peppercorn Sauce, HM Chips, Peas & Sweetcorn
Thursday - HM Minced Beef pie, Roast, Veggies
Friday - Home-cooked Gammon ham, HM Oven Chips, Egg & Mushrooms
Saturday - HM Lasagna, Peas and Sweetcorn, Garlic Bread
Will make some cakes and maybe chocolate cookies.
Breakfasts usual, toast, cereal or porridge.
Lunches - Sandwiches, crackers, fruit, yoghurts.
Snacks - Fruit, Breadsticks, HM cakes/biscuits.
Bread is HM so just milk, fruit & veg to buy as all meat is in freezer.0
