Can someone help me with pc spec

ive seen a pc in curry's the spec is:

Premium 64-bit operating system
Intel Pentium Dual Core E5300 processor
(2.6GHz, 800MHz FSB, 2MB Cache)
Genuine Windows(R) 7 Home Premium 64-bit
2GB DDR3 memory
320GB hard drive
Integrated graphics

my pc is a PB and around 5 years old however the processor is

the one they are selling is better than the one you have, however is it a good buy? well that depends on what they are asking for it, i would say its worth about £150 (might stretch to £200 because of windows being included), the processor is 4 generations out of date, and was not one of the top of that generation, the ram is just at a acceptable level, the hard drive is small, and the intergrated graphics are not very powerful.

so all in all i wouldnt say it is a great upgrade from what you have, yes it will do all the normal things expected of a computer in regards to office and internet
    Drop a brand challenge
on a £100 shop you might on average get 70 items save
    10p per product = £7 a week ~ £28 a month
    20p per product = £14 a week ~ £56 a month
30p per product = £21 a week ~ £84 a month (or in other words one weeks shoping at the new price)

A "Pentium D" is about as 'powerful' as a modern day Atom processor(used in Netbooks).

realistically the second one is going to be no more powerful than the one your currently using

to help you the best we can can you answer the following

what is up with your current pc that is making you look at buying a new one? if its just 'slow' check out the thread at the top of the forum for speeding up a slow or infected pc, which is a excellent guide and costs nothing to do

if you do really want to buy a new system,

    what is your budget?

what do you plan on using it for?

    Is English your first language??

If you want something new, consider this Zoostorm PC from eBuyer for £150 and whack the £15 Windows 8 'upgrade' onto it.

For a year old PC?? Was that the price of the model at Currys?? If it was...GRABBIT!
  • I think I've posted before that your P4 and GForce 6200 are easily capable of running a Flash-based, in-browser game. See https://www.wgt.com/help.aspx#sysreq

Throwing 120 quid at the problem is probably wasting your money but that's your choice.

Have you thought about doing a Windows re-install to clean up your system?

If you want new with the relevant warranty etc, then you can get 'barebones' system which are the case, motherboard, processor, memory, and leads. You then use your existing monitor, keyboard drives and mouse. Or if it fits get a new motherboard and processor. Novatech have quite a range of both types. Only using them as an example as they are close to me, but I daresay there are a multitude of suppliers
