Vanquis - any hidden costs?

Hello,
I joined Vanquis primarily to get some cashback. A requirement is to have made some transactions. I have the card now. I don't plan to pay any charges or interest.
The reason I'm a bit twitchy is that I was just about to sign up for eVanquis thinking it'd be free (just like any standard card provider), and just before I registered, read the T&Cs and realised there's a monthly charge. I also see posts on here about people being charged £1 on their statements for some fee that didn't make much sense.
What's the best way for me to use the card and pay it off without incurring any fees?
Regards,
Pete

eVanquis is free, but if you want paper statements as well there's a 49p per month charge. Presumably you can opt for paper only for free, meaning you only pay the fee if you want both?
The £1 charge you've seen mentioned is their 'minimum finance charge', whereby if you incur interest of less than £1 they waive it and replace it with the £1 charge instead.0 -

Thanks for the replies so far. I'd actually prefer to avoid eVanquis altogether. I notice there's a site called payvanquis.co.uk (can't post links as I'm new). Can anyone confirm there's no hidden charges from that?
My intention is to make only 1 purchase on the card, check the balance by phone, then use payvanquis.co.uk to clear the balance.0
