In February I visited New York. I have a couple of things I'd like to recommend to others who may be off there soon....! All can be booked online, and there are honest and very accurate reviews to peruse in advance of booking. They made my holiday. If you do only one tour, then I recommend the Ground Zero, it is an awesome...!
An absolutely fab couple of tours:-
For Soprano's Fans this is a must do!
Activity Description
Get a 'shakedown' on a trip through Sopranoland!
This four hour, guided, narrated bus tour takes you through New Jersey's Sopranoland, leaving from the Garment District in Manhattan.
You'll learn Sopranos trivia, origins of the show, and production information along the way... not to 'fuhgid aboud' mafia speak and a stop for cannolis!
The tour features over 40 real-life locations from the show, including:
Take a peek inside Bada Bing's
Go to Satriale's, Tony's pork store hangout
Sit on the steps of the diner where Chris was shot
Visit the spot where Big !!!!! spoke with the FBI
Go on location to the high school where A.J. dumped pizza boxes into the pool
See Pizzaland, the Muffler Man, and other sites from the opening credits
Enjoy a cannoli while listening to behind-the-scenes info
The tour departs from near Times Square in Manhattan, and immediately heads through the tunnel into Sopranoland, New Jersey. From there you'll start taking in the sites as your guide entertains and informs you on all things Sopranos. You'll even have a chance to prove your worth as a true Sopranos buff during the tour's trivia contest.
Dead Cheap too....!
Pizza Fans can take in the sites of Brooklyn on this award winning tour...
Find out for yourself what locals, pizza aficionados, food critics, the Food Network, the Travel Channel and the Zagat Survey already know about the best pizzerias in Brooklyn...all while exploring famous neighborhoods such as DUMBO, Red Hook, Coney Island, Bay Ridge, Bensonhurst and more!
A Slice of Brooklyn Pizza Tour invites New Yorkers and tourists alike to climb aboard the city's only guided bus tour of Brooklyn's BEST pizzerias.
During this 4.5 hour foodie romp, you'll visit two of Brooklyn's best pizzerias, each specializing in a different style of pizza: Grimaldi's (brick oven Neapolitan) and L&B Spumoni Gardens (authentic Sicilian.)
Along the way, our multimedia sightseeing tour will highlight Brooklyn's best:
Coney Island's landmark amusement park and boardwalk
Tree-lined brownstone neighborhoods
Keyspan Park, site of baseball's return to Brooklyn and home of the Cyclones
The scenic Brooklyn Bridge and Verrazano-Narrows Bridge
Trump Village, where The Donald's dad, Fred, first made his fortune
Locations from movies such as Saturday Night Fever, The French Connection, Scent of a Woman, Annie Hall and many more...
This Tour Is A Must..
Located just 8 minutes from Ground Zero in the Meat Packing District, the Ground Zero Museum Workshop exhibits 100 of Gary Marlon Suson's most notable photographs from the Ground Zero Recovery, including the Ground Zero Bible Page, the Clock stopped at 10:02 AM from September 11, the "Today is 11" Calendar Page, and several Honor Guard images.
In addition to striking photographic images, you will also see:
Artifacts from the Recovery
Items worn by Recovery workers
Actual tools that were used for digging
Rare video footage from inside the World Trade
Center site displayed on large screen in surround sound
We use the word "workshop" because it is interactive by nature. You will be able pick up and hold certain items to get a greater understanding of what took place during the 9/11 Recovery. The museum also features lifelike 3-D Installations that place viewers right into the "hole" at Ground Zero.
The Ground Zero Museum Workshop is the only museum of its kind in New York. It is a beautiful place for tourists, family members, and locals alike. You will not see images like these anywhere else in the world. Each item has an eyewitness story or personal account by your tour guides, all of whom participated in the Recovery.
They can all be booked securely on http://www.zerve.com
