Tesco coupons 'Valid until 8 April' – but Tesco closed that day!

Three car loads of people on a long journey is hardly trivial... However, as mentioned from the viewpoint of workers at Tesco (+ other supermarkets) I'm glad they were able to enjoy a restful day + the next evening without having to work at all.
DazzaMc - were staff at your supermarket treated to a free Easter egg at the end of trading on Saturday?
3 carloads of people and not a single one had the common sense to either realise that all large stores are legally bound to be closed on Easter Sunday or pick up the phone and call to check. And then for one of them to have the gall to whinge abou5t contacting Watchdog. I really despair sometimes. But no, it's not your fault, it's that nasty Mr Tesco.
The Tesco, morrisons and Asda I visited in the run-up to Easter all had signs saying their opening hours over the period.0 -
I do nothing but moan about Tescos and try to get as much as I can out of them but to whine on about them not opening on easter sunday just because they had printed that date on some of their coupons had not occurred to me.
The new "get active" coupons run out on the 13th may but hold on, THATS A SUNDAY!!
So if I have a drive over to my local Tescos at 8pm that sunday evening I wont be able to spend them!!
HOW DARE THEY!!!
 :rolleyes:Missing Tesco R&R since Feb '07 :A & now a "Tesco veteran" apparently!0 -
You will find that most clubcard vouchers and bonus extra points coupons expire on a sunday, stores are open from 10am-4pm on sunday anyway so you can still use them..............vouchers are usually valid between 2 and 4 weeks so why leave it to the last minute to use them?0

I expected Tesco to be closed on Easter Sunday. Plus every shop I went into before Easter had big signs in the windows/doors clearly listing what days/times they would be open..
This is why I try not to leave my coupons till the last min!

also leaving coupons to the last minute is a bit risky as I find tescos often have empthy spaces where the voucher offers are. Today being one of those times again.0

i got back from my holiday on sat 7apr 11.30pm
got up the next day to get some fruit veg milk bread ect.
popped to tescos to use my coupons up
and bu**er me they're shut.
after doing the rounds to see if there was any shops open, i went back home.
as we are now a multicultural country with different religious beliefs, is'nt it now discriminating against non christian people??0 -

NO. I don't celebrate easter and I don't have a problem with getting a day off work
I appreciate this is a multicultural society but it's like getting people in India to cancel Ramadan for the sake of english people. It wouldn't happen.0 -

No it is not. As lots of little corner type shops would have been open and the co-op would have been open as they are normally small shops.
It was only a few years ago that shops did not open at all on a sunday.
Seems that shopping is now a nation sport and most people seem to want 24 hours a day 7 days a week, 365 days a year shopping.
I hardly think that 1 day a year where the shops have to be shut by law is hardly a problem. Though it does seem to be problem for some people.
Lets not think about the staff that have to work.
