  • sunnsea sorry you've not had a response. Still willing to check this for you if you want me to. Thanks David @ ScottishPower

I have sent all details to the email address you left for me. Thank you.
  • Just had a letter from N Power telling me that unless they get my supply number by the end of this month they will have to cancel the contract. I've rang them and told them the situation with Scottish Power but without my electricity supply number - there is nothing N Power can do!

I've still heard nothing from Scottish Power!

Even though technically I wont have reached deadlock with Scottish Power - the fact that I have been trying to sort out this issue with them for the past eight weeks and they are not keeping me informed of anything - means I will be able to approach the Ombudsman with my complaint number and ask them to sort this issue out at the end of this week....

Hi David, thank you for stepping in to help me out with this issue.

As you informed me - I did receive an email from a representative called Neil who I am guessing is my complaint handler. He wrote and said that that the DNO have now updated their records to reflect the correct address on their systems. Now the DNO need to make a visit to my address to confirm the meter details. They will make this visit in December.

I telephoned Scottish Power to speak to Neil but was told he was busy and unable to take my call so i asked if my correct details were updated on the systems; could I now move suppliers? I was told I could and given a number to quote to the new supplier. I rang N Power to be told that the number given was incorrect and there had been no update done on the database yet so I still cant move!

As I had been informed Neil was busy - I emailed him - I am still waiting for a reply. Although a lady called Margaret kindly emailed me yesterday morning and told me she had passed the email onto Neil....

Its your suppliers Meter Operator that will visit. They will then pass on the meter number to your supplier and the distributor.

An address update can be seen in the ECOES system that all suppliers use so providing Npower checked correctly, the update hasn't been made. He might have meant that he has sent it...but that can take weeks to update and its not even guaranteed as the distributor can reject it. So, unless he agreed it with the distributor, it could still get rejected.
