Novatech

Options
I am posting this to praise Novatech (https://www.novatech.com) for their absolutely astounding customer service. I find them a very refreshing alternative to Ebuyer (although the range is not quite as extensive) and am extremely impressed with their customer service.

One example of their speedy service is as follows:

Yesterday (6/4/05) I ordered one of their pre-built laptops (very good spec - see the Great Laptop Hunt post, details in there) and a bag at 09:27. Normal 3-5 working day delivery was selected. At 09:50 today (7/4) it's delivery was attempted. At a resounding 24hrs 23mins, this is easily the fastest delivery I have known from a computer parts website.

I openly applaud and reccommend Novatech to one and all.

A big round of applause and well done to all staff at Novatech :T :T :T :T :T :T

Yes I found them good too. I started purchasing from them earlier this year (think I have purchased from the before many years ago though) anyhow Ebuyer messed me about so I went else where.

Novatech are good, reasonable cheap and service is quick.

No longer a user, goodbye folks. PLEASE delete my account. Thank you
  • Agreed - ordered a PC on December 30th. Despatch estimate was 4th January - and while I wanted it soon, I wasn't paying extra for special delivery. Next morning, the doorbell rings at 8am (on New Years Eve!), and DHL deliver my PC!

Now, for paying for no special service, at a time when most businesses are shut, and when I was expecting to wait a week or so, this represented amazing service!

I have to disagree in part, they are fast and friendly when you buy or are thinking of buying, but their after sales service is not great.

My aunt recently bought a PC from them and the hard drive immediately started showing problems (e.g. appearing and disappearing from BIOS, machine refusing to boot - "no hard drive"). They picked it up reasonably quickly and paid for the courier themselves.

A week later the PC arrived back, they said they had simply replaced the entire machine with a new one. As soon as it was plugged in the hard drive started playing up again, exactly the same problem (no dubt the same PC).

This time they refused to pay for a courier and she had to pay to have it returned. When it arrived back they claimed it had been damaged in transit, and tried to charge her for the damage (despite the fact the courier has insurance). They also refused to 'replace' the machine a second time and said they would only repair any broken bits.

After a few threats to a manager re trading standards, they eventually sent her a new machine and refunded all costs.

I know of 2 other people who had had problems with their after sales service under similar circumstances.

I myself had problems with a laptop (under warranty). Their techies weren't interested, in the end I sorted it myself. Turned out to be a corrupt driver - thank goodness it wasn't serious.

I have used them for years. They used to be great but I wouldn't buy from them again unless their act improves.

Having recently experienced returning items to both Novatech and Ebuyer, Novatech win hands down.

To cut a long story short, Novatech barebones system arrived damaged, broken case. I called support who arranged return by DHL (slight problem there, but not Novatech's fault) 3 days later a repaired case arrived.

Ebuyer on the other hand sent me the wrong item, after investigation I realised that Ebuyer are advertising the wrong item but refuse to accept this and advised that if I want to return it I will have to pay delivery and a restocking fee.

Won't be using Ebuyer again, Novatech for me next time!

Used Novatech a few years ago without problems, but like every vendor some people have problems so don't, ebuyer have been pretty good for me but never had to deal with after sales.

    Hi,

Bought a DVD player from Novatech at end of 2003 - When it was tried, it turned on okay, but couldn't find any disk if it was in the machine.

Even over Christmas Novatech replied and gave me an address and returns number for the player, which was replaced very quickly once I'd posted it to them.

Only thing is that you have to pay the postage yourself, and then then refund this amount to your card - No problem there really, but they said they'd only pay up to £3.50 IIRC, and the postage was slightly higher than this. Not sure exactly the amount they did refund to the card, as it bought was using my mums card and so I never saw the statement.

    Cheers
