a strange call.

being in a bit of a rush today, we were in the car when my wife answered to a call from someone portaying to be my old broadband service provider BE*.
i pulled over to take the call.
the lady said is that MR xxxxx xxxxx i asked who she was (not answering to the question untill i knew who i was talking to) she said she was calling from BE* broadband, (my ears picked up because i know that BE has no uk call centers and this lady was scottish). i said i wont confirm anything untill she tells me who she is who she's from and what its regarding.
she said things so fast i couldnt catch any of it so i said im not going to confirm anything untill you tell me what its regarding to wich she reiterated that i would need to confirm my name and address, i said your calling me!! i want to know what is regarding before i can confirm anything to you, she just said that its to do with your be broadband i said so your not from BE your from a outside company to wich she said yes i ended the call as she got a bit irrate with me.
i havent had be broadband in over a year i owe no arrears on the account always paid up and now my wife has that broadband in her name.
the number that called me was 02922160076.
ive googled it and shows nothing.
anyone else?
the background was echoing also, like she was calling from a kitchen! or bathroom no other voives like a call center?

apparently, this a BTW group (or one of its subs) number (after alot of digging).
have not got anydebt with BE never had a letter from be about any oustanding debt as i paid everything up when i closed the account even boughtthe router off them.0 -

perhaps but why would marketing call tell me to confirm my name and address then when refused and asked why it is regarding a BE account.
if it was marketing it would be hi mr xxx xxx were calling on behalf of BE we like to introduce to you a new brand or product on offer.
the company i said this call was from mainly deal in debts.0
