Do Halifax do offers in Online Banking for Credit Cards etc like Lloyds do ?.
I will only be paying in the £1k per month (And taking it back out again !) for the free £5, but I could make it around £1,200 - £1,300 a month by adding in Quidico Payments, expenses etc. But would this trigger offers like I get in Lloyds, or would I have to actually use it as an account, so take cash out, set up Direct Debts etc ?.

Hi, not sure if this helps but I bank with Halifax, and have 2 credit cards with them. I have a bills account where my pay goes over £1000 so I get my £5 for that account. I then have a spends account that also has the reward on it, and put £1000 in that a month from my pay account so I get another £5 for that.
Then I have a clarity card, spend £300 on that and pay in full by the end of the month for another £5. And a zero credit card (one card) that I stooze on in a esaver account with an interest rate with them think its 2.5%
Hope this helps you out :-)0 -
If you have a Rewards account, you can also apply for the Clarity Card. I think you automatically qualify. It's a zero fee card but also gives you £5 a month cashback each month you spend £300.
saz, do you mean you have two Rewards accounts and use them for different things like pay in and then transfer to the other where Direct Debits come out of of? I think they stopped allowing multiple Rewards accounts or something now. I read some people here managed to open 4 or 5 at the start before they became stricter.0 -

Yes I have one that I have my "bills" account where my pay to go into and all my bills come out, the other I transfer £1000 a month from my bills account.
I thought we were only allowed one reward account too, but when I went into the bank to sort out a credit card earlier this year they made my current account to a reward one, and opened me another as a "bills" account and told me to do this themselves. I have a friend who works for Santander and think all bank staff work on "points" for each account they open which could be why she told me to do this.0 -

So far as I can see, the offers are just targeted adverts. You don't actually get a better deal on a product through an offer than if you just go ahead and apply for it."It will take, five, 10, 15 years to get back to where we need to be. But it's no longer the individual banks that are in the wrong, it's the banking industry as a whole." - Steven Cooper, head of personal and business banking at Barclays, talking to Martin Lewis0

Yeah I almost always only get targeted adverts. I think once in the 2 years I've been with them I've had a guaranteed Halifax Credit Card offer pop up (though that could have been via post).
And Deru, no you don't automatically qualify for the Clarity card. It greatly increases your chances, but it's not automatic.0
