Help for tripping toaster

Can anyone help me?
I tried to make toast this morning and when I pushed down the toast, the electricity tripped.
I switched plugs sockets and it still tripped. I have tried it in several sockets and it still trips.
Is it just the fuse in the toaster do you think?
The Forman grill did it the same a couple of months ago so I just packed it away as it was quite old but this toaster is less than a year old and I don't want to get yet another new one as I love this one.
Help will be greatly appreciated Thanks!

Have you checked the crumbs?
Mine did this a couple of weeks ago. It turned out to be a bit of hot cross bun burnt to a crisp that was over heating it and then tripping the electric. Maybe worth a look x0 -
Ooh thanks mummyof3.
I shall give it a good clean and see what happens.
I did shake a lot of the crumbs out but there could be something I am missing.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

simply put the toaster is knackered !.
clean out the element and make sure it isnt touching the casing.
butter or currents from hot cross buns between the element and the casing i have seen before which sometimes trip the rcd.

Well I took the advice of Mummyof3 and gave the toaster a good ole clean out.
I took the crumb tray out and washed it and I stood outside a-shaking the toaster till nothing else would come out.
It is totally clear inside now and it works perfectly again.
That'll teach me to toast Hot cross buns a bit more carefully next time.
Thanks for all your help!!~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
