Domestic and General Boiler Insurance

I currently have Domestic and General Boiler Insurance.
However after sending Heat Team twice to repair my boiler, I was told the part is no longer available. Heat team told me that Domestic and General will contact me with probably a contrubution towards a new boiler. The insurance seems to say up to £1500 which could mean anything. Also says in small print "not entitles to replacement appliance"?
I would really like to know how they work out contribution if at all. I have taken boiler insurance continuously with them for at least 6 years.
Also Heat Team said i would have to pay for a survey to be done but surely it should just be a matter of getting a free quote taking out the old boiler and putting in a new one ( parts and labor) in the same place.
i would really appreciate to hear from other people whom were in the same position.

I've also got boiler cover with them but my boiler is ok but timer clock not working. Like you told it is obsolete so can put in a similar one but they will only pay for the part and not the additional wiring/labour to make it work! After a few minutes surfing I found the part myself and now told by D & G to get the part if i want and organise an engineer and they will consider how much they will consider reimbursing LOL. Nothing else they will do. I might add that this was after 5 phone calls to them each time being told that the timer clock wasn't covered but my poilcy stated Controls, electrical/mechanical time control! Can you be sure the part isn't available or am I just being cynical!

thanks for your response.
I spoke to D and G and they have offered me £299- they did not make sense as i'm supposed to be covered up to £1500.
However i have noticed you can buy the spare part after spending 2 minutes reseach on for £450. I cannot see why i should pay over £800 to install a new boiler because its the cheaper option for them. That's what insurance is forsurely0 -

you really need to read up on what their liabilities are. that will ive you a clearer picture in the future.... for example:
https://partners.domgen.com/Quote/products/boiler-protection
Up to £1,500 in repairs (or contribution towards a replacement) a year.
The £1,500 is clearly stated fore repairs, not a replacement boiler.
UNfortunatley D&G dont have their full t&c's online....
so i cant say if the £299 is fair.
Read the t&c;s to make sure you arent entitled to more...
tbh most companies if they offer anything its normally around £250 so seems a good offer.Promo codes are never always cheaper..... isnt that right EuropCar?0
