TSST corp CDDVDW TS-L633J windows 8 driver

Hi does anyone know where I can get a windows 8 64 bit driver for a Toshiba DVD model TSST corp CDDVDW TS-L633J, without having to download a lot of rubbish beforehand?

I did try the Toshiba site but it says there is no driver.

Have you got Win 7 too, the driver on there may work, I had to use a Vista driver for my ancient ATI Radeon card.

I have just upgraded the laptop from Windows 7 to Windows 8,
now the DVD drive doesn't work because there is no driver to be found.

I can still boot from the DVD, it just doesn't work in Windows 8.

Did you upgrade (or clean install) if upgrade there should be a Windows.old folder on your C: drive . If so go to device manager , update the DVD driver , select look on my computer, browse to Windows.Old\System32 , see if it finds it

I had tried that, was told that the best driver was already installed.

Mind you my google skills aren't what they were i used "TS-L633J driver windows 8" that was the top of the list on google.co.uk

Ah ok I should have asked did you upgrade in place rather than "upgrade (or clean install)" , Oh and i did re-read what you posted and you did not say you have tried the driver in you windows.old folder, but we could argue until the cows come home about semantics/etc etc. My question now to you is did you find a solution?, because notwithstanding our/my little spat the answer to your problem may help someone else further along the line after all that is the point of forums or am i wrong about that too.
Oh and which machine is the DVD in ?
