Loss of notice compensation

Hi there
Just wondered if anyone could answer my question?
Basically after 6yrs service I was recently made redundant from a company that went insolvent and cease to trade any more,I wasn't given any notice at all.i have filled out an sent away for my redundancy claim from the national insurance contributions and said I want to claim loss of notice compensation.now,a week after being made redundant I have found employment with another company,so I was in effect,only redundant for a week,what I realy want to know is,will the fact iv found new employment effect the amount of loss of notice compensation I will be untitled to,as I understood I'd get 6wks pay for this.many thanks

They will only be paying the first week of reduncy plus the difference between your new and old pay (assuming new pay lower than old) for the other 5

Hi mate,thankyou for the fast response
I read the link you posted,and i think i understand it.am I right in thinking that they will calculate my 6wks wages I should have earned had I been given notice, then deduct income earned during my 6wks notice period?then obviously tax it aswel.yes my new employment pays slightly less than old,by around £30 a wk.
