Upgrading to sky+ (I know im well behind!!!)

You only need the phone line connected to get box office movies, if it is not connected you cannot get them.

It has no other affect not being connected as far as I am aware as my line was knackered for quite a while and I could still get all the features of a sky+ box. Go for virgin media if you can get in your area, much cheaper.

We upgraded from ordinary Sky to Sky+ HD a couple of months ago (we were Luddites too ). We needed a new dish on the front of the house, a new lead and a new/enlarged hole drilled in the front wall. There was a phone socket thingy already there on the inside of the bay window, but we were warned we wouldn't be able to run an extension from it to upstairs (not an issue for us). We can now do the dual thing - watch one/record another etc.
