I can't moved xp files on external drive to new windows 7 computer

Hi, please can someone help. When I plug in my external drive and view on new windows 7 comp, I can only see my pictures, can't see .doc or .pst, etc or anything else. I need to copy these over, can someone advise......thanks

Use Windows Explorer and search for *.doc or *.pst0
