I want to replace our laptop as it is 5 years old and starting to go wrong so I want to replace it with a desktop computer.
Now as I have a laptop table I want to permanently attach the monitor to it and just connect it to the base as and when I need it without too much fiddling about and also use a wireless mouse and keyboard.
The monitor and table will be moved elsewhere when not in use and in use will be about 5ft from the base unit, so do new monitors come with easy connections rather than screw in vga fittings.
Also can you get wireless monitors?
Any ideas appreciated.

What you want is a KVM Switch, this means you can share these between computers and saves ware and tear on keep unpluging them.

a HDMI or Displayport pc->monitor connection is generally quick release. (no screws, displayport has a quickrelease clip)
As for wireless, I don't recommend it because there is a 500ms-1000ms delay in any action.. its fine for movies because the sound is usually sent over the same channel.
For computers theres something called widi or a wireless hdmi connection would probably work as well.0 -

If you have a modern (lcd / led /plasma) telly, you will find this has connections for a pc too. Just in case you can pop your computer somewhere near the telly. My Mind wanders, if found please return.0
