Do you believe your original supplier is still supplying you?

If yes confirm that & then why bother chasing poor service. Personally I'd either just stay where you are or go to someone who provides a better service.

You cannot be billed by two companies for one supply, I wouldn't worry unduly about that.
  • Undaunted I pay by direct debit. Therefore 2 suppliers are currently taking out DD each month totally around £150.

I got a call today, apprently they had a choice of switching 'top flat' or 'flat 13b-c', I gave my address as 13b but for some reason they went with top flat and as they didn't action my emails/calls/neighbours calls the switch went ahead. Hopefully now it's being dealt with.

Just to compound it all, my original supplier took a electric reading on 19th, I went to take a reading on 24th and the meter had gone blank. Apparently it happens and they're going to replace it. Just had a reading so not a problem except 've just found out my reading is 137% higher than normal, I use about 800 units over summer April - Oct and 1200 for the other six months this is based on actual readings going back 7 years. July - Oct this year I used 950 units alone. I think the meter reader hit a 9 instead of a 6 on the machine they have, nothing has changed here to explain it. Hopefully I can sort it out because this reading was so high despite not being in debit before with my monthly payments I'm now nearly £80 and they want to increase monthly payment by 75% from £32 to £56 despite being on £32 for years and not ever needing to top this up or increase it, I'm usually in credit until I ask them to return some of the overpayment.

I have never had a problem with my energy until now, it's like the floodgates have opened.

Fingers crossed. And thanks for everyone's advice.
