Outlook Mailing List Woes...

Options
At work we use outlook for emails and mailing lists.

I spent several hours creating a new mailing list in a folder in the Outlook address book, printed it, saved and closed it, and when I opened it back up 2 days later to edit it several of the entries had vanished!

I re-entered 3 of the missing names & email addresses, saved, closed then re-opened.

The 3 replaced entries were still there but several other random entries had now vanished!

This happened every time I saved / closed / re-opened the new mailing list folder!!

At this rate, I'll end up re-entering the entire list and ending up with no names/email addresses in there. (The list had about 500 entries on Monday but it looks decidedly shorter now).

It doesn't seem to remove the same number of new entries I make ie: I can add 2 and lose 6 or add 4 and lose 3.

It's not picking out specific email addresses ie: those in hotmail, gmail, aol...

They don't vanish from the top or bottom of the list, just randomly.

Any ideas??!!

I believe you might have hit the size limit for mailing lists. You need to speak to your support people as the size can be limited on the server.

Have you tried splitting the list into two smaller ones?

    Hi Mr-Toad,

I was told Outlook can cater for large mailing lists with several thousand email addresses, but I will have a chat to my co-workers and suggest splitting the mailing list into two (or even three).

    Many thanks.

Outlook itself can but often a limit is set on the Exchange server. At least if you check you'll be able to eliminate it.
