Credit Rating Woes

It's a nightmare situation to be fair. The job door is now closed as they needed an immediate start essentially. I don't seem to be able to find a phone number for experian or equifax unless I'm a paid up member. Also, as much as everyone says that Noddle is the potential issue I'd assume my credit card limits wouldn't have been cut by over £2K overnight on coincidence with the merging and vast drop in credit rating? This tends to suggest to me that there has been a definite issue0

You may not need to call either of them. Just get your £2 statutory credit report from both of them today and see what the damage is. Then if you actually have issues on the reports, you may need a subscription to call them or raise online disputes but you can still write to them for free (I think). I would recommend a subscription to both of them until all issues are resolved. It's hardly a lot of money when weighed up against missed job opportunities etc0

Check all 3 and disassociate from dad where the error has occured, should put things back to normal apart from the lower limits (will go back up) and job issue (better doors will open for you in future).
Maybe this will be a wakeup call to stop living on tick. Bad attitude to credit is genetic (trust me my dad was the same and i've been battling it in myself for years) so be careful or this 'merged' report will be all yours soon. If the companies who have reduced your limit offended you by doing so, pay them off as soon as possible and tell them to stuff their card... keep X amount in a current account and treat it like a credit card but with the bonus of no interest to pay. No one will be able to take their money back and ruin your plans for jobs, holidays etc. if the money actually belongs to you. Sorry for the rant... Let us know how you got on.
Oh yeah, and no one is going to give you any compo, get real. lol.0 -
Hi there rartherinv. I'm not actually "living on tick" I'm not in any over drafts. Don't actually owe much at all on credit cards. Don't ever go into overdrafts. However, to actually rent a new place / buy a new car to commute I'd need a credit check, which previously I'd have passed as I do check rating often and until this issue has been exemplary, but now I'd fail.
I'm in the process of going through disassociation with my dad at the moment using all 3 companies but I'm still after someone to complain to. Not to get compensation but to inform them of the ludicrous error that has been made regarding my credit report.0 -

Absolutely no "bonus" for me in doing this. I buy everything on a credit card and pay it off in full each month. Never pay a penny in interest but earn interest (albeit not much) on my current account, have been paid over £1000 in cashback over a 4 year period (money for nothing on purchases I had to make anyway). Also get much more protection on all my purchases because of section 75. Also, if your debit card is cloned, it's potentially more of a risk in terms of your liability because the thieves are spending your money, not someone else's.0
