Hi All

Just had a quote from a local firm (Glasgow based) for a gas boiler to be installed as my current boiler (has a hot water tank so old fashioned) conked off!

Its a 2 bed mid terrace house and price includes:

potterton performa 15sl condensing boiler

magnaclean filter

chemicals and inhibit

guarantee/gas safe certificate

this also includes some joinery work as they will have to cut out the side of the woodwork to accommodate the new boiler width

£1300-1400.

Is this a fair quote?

Thanks,

Very low price, so if you trust them bite their hands off.
  • agree with above, but you haven't got a quote you have an estimate which can very easily go up
I'm only here while I wait for Corrie to start.

You get no BS from me & if I think you are wrong I WILL tell you.

It is a quote the guy said that he will keep it to 1400 but if he can save on materials then he will charge 1300.

i got another quote for 1350 but for the new combi boiler, when i asked for the replacement of like for like (the old fashioned boiler) the person said that he will hav to check (as he was unsure).. surely if he is installing the old fashioned boiler then it will be less than 1350?

the only reason why i dont want to install new combi boiler is 1) we r selling the house 2) dont want any extra work or damage to the house etc ..

    any advice?
