Afternoon everyone
I'm getting fed up of waiting now it's been 2 months since offer was accepted on the house we are buying, we are ready to go now all surveys/searches mortgage offer in place it seems everyone is holding things up nobody bothers to ring to let us know what is happening,
Can i still ring the vendors estate agents to see what is happening or is solictor the best person to contact only a few weeks ago he went mad at the estate agent for not passing on infomation regarding the the chain situation,
Any advice will be great
Thanks

When I get fed up with people not returning my calls (Sols and EA) I call the vendor to see if they know whats going on and then have called their solicitor. Hasn't helped us much because we are still waiting. (Offer accepted first week in Feb!!!) We are all ready to go but at the moment have no dates for contact exchange let alone completion.... GRRRRR....:j Hayley:j
:dance:All I ask is the chance to prove that money can't make me happy. :dance:0 -
Hi there
No we do not have contact with the vendor, we have contact with no one all of a sudden evrything has gone really quiet we were under the impression from the estate agent that the people at the top of the chain are willing to go into rented so we thought it would probably go through quickly i know the vendors solictors are slow as it took 5 weeks for paperwork to come through.
We were looking at moving middle of may is that to optomistic
Thanks for your replys0 -
Don't rely on EA's or solicitors to keep you up to date. I have called our sol everyday this week for updates. Also if you bug them, they bug everyone else in the chain just to get you off their backs

You have to keep the pressure on, even if you sound like a parrot at the end of the week. If you leave it to go quiet then your file gets forgotten about.
Keep nagging!! :rotfl::heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0 -
I know i might sound a bit thick,
But what sort of questions should i be asking the solictor with regards to what's happening only i get the impression from one of his letters in a round about way don't call me i'll call you, but we are paying him,
The last letter he sent was with the searches saying he had asked vendors solictors for something and was waiting on that.
Thanks0 -
When I call our sol, or EA for that matter I just ask for a general update on the sale/purchase. If you know certain things are being waited on ask about those. i.e have all the searches come back yet?........Do our buyers have their mortgage offer yet?
Also you can phone the vendors EA asking the same, tell them you want a general update.

Thanks Shelley i'll get on the phone in the morning, trouble with me i'm to nice i don't like to bother people, note to self harden up girl:mad: you can really tell i have never done this before,
THANKYOU0 -
It would have been completely pointless if I had called our EA asking for an update because they just didn't have a clue what was going on - nor did they want to know.
In answer to the OP though, yes chase, chase and chase again, never assume that no news is good news, keep on the ball. If I hadn't done that with our sale and purchase the chain would have collapsed.0
