Hi guys,
Wondered if anyone can help me? I've just bought my first house, previously been renting in accommodation where gas and electric are paid inclusively of rent. I therefore don't have a previous or average bill amount. I don't know how to set up a fair priced gas and electric amount. I am a male living on my own and don't want to get stung because of my inexperience.
HELP PLEASE!

You are already in a deemed account with the existing suppliers, so you cannot switch until you first register with them, which you should have done as soon as you moved in. I hope you took opening readings upon occupation?
To switch, use any comp site with average kWh consumption figures. If the property has gas CH and DHW, then use 16,500 kWh for gas and 3,300 kWh for electricity. Select anything you like for current tariff, it doesn't matter.
Once you've found the best tariff, switch using a cashback site. The process will take 4-6 weeks. No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
Thank you so much! That's great advice. My details were passed onto the current providers and I await correspondence from them. I took the readings the day I moved in. Thanks again.0
