Any advice please on whether it is better to buy new or a good make (I am looking at IBM that was originally about £1400) refurbished.
Also if I buy a laptop with Vista, will I be able to put an older version of office onto it, will it be compatible?
Thanks

Depends on the price really, the main thing to watch out for is battery life on 2nd hand stuff. If you can get a new Vista laptop for just over £300, then paying that sort of money for 2nd hand is probably not a good idea, but £150 maybe?Ever get the feeling you are wasting your time? :rolleyes:0
