Ford Focus Car Key Needed - can someone help please?

Good morning everyone
Stupidly i gave my 2 year old daughter the remote key to our focus to hold and its now been missing for about 6 months, so its fair to say that its gone.

We are now only left with the spare but this isnt operated by remote and everytime i need to get in the car i have to go in the drivers door and quickly insert the key into the ignition before the alarm goes off. This is not easy with kiddies in tow so i desperately need a new remote key. Ive been reading loads and loads of forums but im getting very confused so could someone please tell me if there is anywhere i can get a replacement remote key which wont cost the earth?
Thanks in advance
x

Depends what age your focus is.

Google your problem to find if you can do some diy programming on a blank remote from ebay.

With only one non remote key there is no hope of diy programming. Try local key cutting shops to see if they can do it or can recommend someone who can. Be prepared for a rather large bill though.

you need 2 keys to program more.

You can get your key cloned. But if you lose one you cant lock it out of the system. They both have the same code.

You can buy a remote key and put your chip in it from the plain key.

But you really want to find the other key. Is it in the house?

Adding keys you need 2 unique keys not cloned ones to do it yourself. One key = a dealer or specialist job.

Programming the remote is easy. Few turns of the ignition key rapidly and a press of the button and your done.

So a 2nd hand remote is cheap.
