Really random question about taking bacon in hold luggage

Options
In December l'm flying to Finland and was wondering whether I would be better putting frozen bacon into the hold with the likelihood of it unfreezing and refreezing during the journey or putting the bacon cold from the fridge in with a couple of ice packs. Then it wouldn't matter if it froze? Random l know but travellering with fussy eaters!

I don't think they let it get that cold in the hold, when liquids freeze they expand with great power and rupture whatever they are in, can you imagine all the upset passengers with exploded toiletries over their clothes?

So I don't think it matters, it may even be fairly warm in the hold, and considering your overall journey time for preservation of freshness I think I would start with frozen and packed with a couple of icepacks in a decent small coolbag. Seal well to allow for some defrosting and water leakage.

Really not necessary to freeze it. These things are vacuum packed. A cold pack and a 'keep cool' carrier bag from LIDL(£0.49p) will do it. Pop it into the fridge once you arrive at your destination.
Freezing meat will have an effect on it's quality.

can you imagine how upset passengers would be if the animals, which airlines occasionaly transport in their holds, exploded all over their clothes.

Its a myth that holds of aircraft get mega-cold.
Live each day like its your last because one day you'll be right

Indeed - and perhaps this could 'hog' a lot of space in the OP's luggage as well.

Don't 'flitch' OP - we are on your 'side' and dont be 'rash' - your bacon will be fine.

Others may be 'disGRUNTled' if they knew there was a pig product on the plane, but tough I say!
