a tea urn would warm up a decent amount of water for kitchen use or for washing. should be able to get one reasonably cheaply off ebay/gumtree. you could always sell it again when you no longer need it.Teamwork means.......never having to take all the blame yourself0

Thanks all. We are not happy to try and fit part ourselves when we have no idea what we would be doing. I don't think it's very safe. Also, we don't have a spare £100 for the part.
We have heating still so that's one good thing it's just the hot water. It's more my 18 month old's baths I'm concerned about but will have to manage for the time being and just hope we can get something sorted soon. Running out of options.0 -
To get the cash can you flog anything on Ebay or at a carboot sale. Maybe clothes the baby has grown out of or never worn. You can sell DVDs for about £1 each, try online if you have box sets, especially of older series which maybe in demand and can attract more.
Sell unwanted baby equipment, don't keep in case you need in future as you can always buy immaculate second hand in the future when you need the items for bargain prices. Most first time parents buy equipment they never used or didn't really need so get rid now while they are current range.
If you have police commissioner elections coming up contact the council to see if they have any need for counting staff or poll clerks. You should clear at least £100 for a days work for this.
Have a look on this thread for ideas~Laugh and the world laughs with you, weep and you weep alone.~:)

Your 18 month old can be bathed in a kitchen sink. Our Mum's did it till we were older than that. Much less hot water needed. Maybe not what you'd like but it'd do for now. Especially if you have heating. Do you have an electric shower?0

Don't know if it is still available, but the Warmfront 300 was a grant of £300 to get a boiler fixed or towards a new boiler for those not on any benefits.
I've done loads of these jobs in the past.0 -
i think warmfront 300 was/is for over 60s
OP have you considered BG one off fixed price repair(£99),but the downside is you have to take out a service plan with them for 12 months at around £20 a month, but that includes an annual service, plus any repairs needed for 12 months0 -
Yes, but they seemed VERY lenient about the rules around my way.0
