virus problem

getting the message 'trojan horsedownloader.delf.3alt'


the avg doesnt seem to touch it, any ideas as it seems to have the effect of locking up internet exxplorer.

    Honestly, I don't rate AVG.

    I would use Avast.

    Bit late, I know.
  • Try running AVG in Windows Safe Mode.

    If that doesn't work, turn off System Restore and run it again. (assuming you are running XP/2000 here), as it will not disinfect files inside a restore point. After running, turn on System Restore and create a new restore point.

    I wouldn't be quite so quick to rubbish AVG JUST yet - it seems to work for tens of thousands of people out there, and gets good results in antivirus tests against the Nortons and McAfees of this world. But it's a personal choice which one anyone uses. :)
