Just found this and thought it might be useful for those missing a quick shutdown icon in windows 8.
Easy and works a treat.

Or just do Ctrl-Alt-Delete and select shutdown from the switch icon at the bottom-right of the screen.If you put your general location in your Profile, somebody here may be able to come and help you.0
