Finance for PGCE, Single Parent

Can anyone in a similar situation please advise....
My daughter (23) finished her first degree in the summer and is working at the moment to gain relevant experience to apply for PGCE courses in 2013. By then she will be a parent ( and may decide if she is offered a placel to defer for a year).
We are trying to work out finances for returning to university as a single parent and have gone round in circles! She needs to have a rough idea of what kind of income she can expect so she can plan accordingly.
She is planning to move out shortly before the baby is born so will be living independently.
What student finance package could she expect? As a parent herself would our income still be taken into account? What is considered income for benefit purposes, particularly housing benefit?
Thanks for any help.

Once she's responsible for a child, your daughter will be assessed as an independent student.0

She will also need to factor in the cost of transport to placement schools, equipment, clothing, childcare etc.0
