Double Glazing Quote Online ?

Where can i get an Instant Double Glazing Quote Online?

I had a bad exsprence in my old house where a double glazing salesman came to my home to give me a quote. He was very pushy and quoted ridicules money. He then refused to negotiate on the price until he could speak to my husband.

Anyway, i'm in a different house now and yes this one needs new double glazing as well.

I have been looking around the internet for a place to get an instant online price to avoid another pushy salesman. The only website i found that would actually give me an online price without any tricks was doubleglazingpricesnow.co.uk. The prices seem to be good but because i can't seem to find any other websites that will give me a quote i can't compare prices. My question is are there any other sites out there??

:hello:
Is doubleglazingpricesnow.co.uk the best way to get an online price or can anyone find me another place to get an online quote?

I can't see how a company can give you a definitive quote without actually seeing the house.

I would recommend seeking out established local companies in your area, and ask a few of them to give you a quote. I have yet to encounter pushy salesmen from them, and there was no "negotiating" over the price. They sent a surveyor to look at the work, then sent me a quote to do the work. No hassle.
    If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.
  • Ah i should mention that on the doubleglazingprices.co.uk website, you can put in your measurements for the windows, choose the colour, glass type and other things like if you want a lock upgrade or what colour handles you want. It then calculates your price, its says if your happy with the price you should book an appointment for a surveyor to come round. This is very hassle free, i was just after another website like this one so that i could compare the price.

Ectophile do you think the prices on the site are good?

I agree with Ectophile get quotes from small local firms we had nothing but excellent service from ours and were pleased with every aspect of the installation. I had a problem with one French door and they came the same day to adjust it.

You can find some guideline double glazing prices on http://www.comparemylocal.com/Cost-Guide/double-glazing-prices
They also offer a price comparison service where they put you in touch with 3 local companies. But I don't think they offer online pricing, I guess it involves someone coming round.
