Littlewoods/Yodel lost my laptop

Hey Guys,
I need your advice please, bought a new laptop last month and was trading in a older model to get money off.
The Laptop was bought from Argos and the Deal was with Toshiba. I packed up the old laptop and it was ready to be picked up by a courier.
On Saturday 13th October I Yodel Man knocked on my door saying he was here to pick up a parcel, so I thought great it was the laptop, gave him the box and he gave me a sticker with a barcode on.
A week or 2 went by and I got an email from Toshiba saying the latop was being picked up last week. I thought that was odd as It had already gone, so I asked Toshiba had they not picked it up already? so they said that was not them who picked it up on the 13th.
So I then called Yodel and they told me they had come to the wrong address a neighbour in my road was meant to have an item picked up for Littlewoods and the driver came to the wrong door and picked up my laptop.
They said the laptop had turned up at Littlewoods and I would have to deal with them as they had said it was at Littlewoods.
I then called Littlewoods and they told me it had been with them and sent back out to Toshiba over 14 days ago, so to check with Toshiba to see if they had got it yet and if not I would need to email Littlewoods with a copy of the barcode sticker.
I called Toshiba and they said no the laptop has not turned up, so I then rang littlewoods and told them the laptop was not at Toshiba and I was going to send this email.
I got an email today from littlewoods saying there was no sign of me ordering an laptop on my littlewoods account, I then told them again that if they read my notes and email they would know the laptop was not from Littlewoods but it was a mix up in being picked up at the wrong address at the same time I was also waiting for an item to be picked up from somewhere else.
They emailed me back saying we need to pass this on and we will get someone to call you back.
That's all I have heard since, do I have any leg to stand on and is there anything littlewoods should be doing to sort this out?
Thanks

Toshiba booked a courier whom applied the wrong label. I would say they are liable.
Although emailing Littlewoods to tell them as involuntary bailees of the Laptop, you would ask they resolve your query in a timely and efficient manner otherwise you will be forced to raise an invoice for the Laptop. Might get their attention..0 -

Doesnt read like that to me at all. To me it reads that OP's neighbour booked courier for returning littlewoods items. This courier turned up at OP's door and OP thought he was from Toshiba so handed the parcel over.
The fact the OP was waiting on a courier from Toshiba is more or less a red herring. They hadn't booked their courier at that point. It is littlewoods courier who have went to the wrong address and have not checked the details were correct. You keep using that word. yep that's what happened, I said to the courier on the day I did not think you were due yet, I said Are you sure it's for here as I only have this going back to Toshiba and he said yeah that will be the one, they have just come early.0 -
You need some legal advice to correctly identify who is at fault or you are going to spend an awful lot of time being a ping pong ball and may end up attempting to sue the wrong person. You can get free legal advice on consumer matters at a number of places, including your local Authority.

Hi DJDavey,
We can look into this for you. From the sounds of it the email you received was automatically generated by our system when it recognised that an item was returned to your account that you had not purchased. This would confirm that the laptop has been received into our Returns Centre.
You may have already received a response to the reply you sent but if not, then please email us at Help@Littlewoods.co.uk and we would be happy to help.
Many Thanks
Dave

Just a quick update, everything was going great and Littlewoods said there was a mix up and they would refund for the laptop and would send a cheque in the post last week.
I then got a call from the CEO's secretary saying she would need to look into this more and could I send her all the information again
and she would look into it and get back to me.
This has now been 34 days and it's getting to be a joke now:mad:0 -
this thread sound very familiar..... Not doubting OP , but the exact same thing has allready happened on this site within the last 2 years.Forgot how the saga ended!"if the state cannot find within itself a place for those who peacefully refuse to worship at its temples, then it’s the state that’s become extreme".Revd Dr Giles Fraser on Radio 4 20170
