This would be interesting provided the new insurer would accept the proof as such :)

Can't see how they could refuse, claim free time on cover is a matter of fact with no interpretation attached.

Of course you cant do that. NCB is issued in years, not months, so you have not earned the entitlement until you have completed a year with the same insurer.

That's certainly a view point but if you are correct then the OP, who has been continuously insured and driving for 38 months claim free, only ends up with 24 months NCB.

If I'm correct then the OP ends up with 36 months NCB.

Think my view point is fairer and passes the "common sense" test

Do you get your birthday presents a bit at a time each month, or do you have to wait a whole year until your aniversary?

Whatever you do, pay absolutely no attention to the above statement. All that will happen is they'll ask you to prove the 3 years (documented proof of 3 years, not 2 years here, 10 months there and 4 months from somewhere else). When you ultimately can't prove this, you'll be charged additional premium (probably more than why you'd have paid I you put 2 years in the first place), admin/adjustment charges as well.

Your point is utter bull***t and has absolutely no contribution to the thread. Sorry couldn't help it :)
