This is the only picture/photo editing software I have!
Is there a way to sample some colour within a photo and use that as paint to edit other parts of the photo?
Or should I be using an alternative software system?
Thanks!

There's the colour picker / dropper tool, it has more or less the same icon in every image manipulation program.
In paint (win 7/8) its the middle bottom tool on the tools ribbon.0 -
Perfect thanks!0

for heavens sake ditch paint as it is the worst and most dated package around. Does have great pointing arrows though.
Get this for free http://www.getpaint.net/ and it also is able to use many or most of the photoshop plugins. Also it is simple to use, unlike gimp.0 -

Paint.net is a great program. I use it to crop my images for eBay.0
