From your usage and costs that you quote I make it your annual bill is about £2456 or £204 a month:eek:
For a 3 bed semi that is huge.
For a start make sure your gas is being billed on the correct type of meter (metric or imperial). If in doubt look at the meter and if it has M3 on it it is metric and if Cu ft it is imperial. Then post some details from a bill, eg meter readings and kwh used.
Your electric is about twice the average, tell us the appliances you use, especially any that provide heat like fires or tumble driers and electric showers.
Also your tariff looks to be a poor one so you should be able to save by switching (who are you with). But you should look to reduce your usage as a priority.
I do not think spark energy gets a good write up on here but I have no opinion on them.0 -
Standing charges are completely irrelevant given your massive level of consumption. Concentrate on reducing that instead.
If you want to know aboutt Spark then do a forum search, they're not remotely competitive anyway-who suggested them to you? Your landlord maybe? They pay kickbacks to LL's and agents, targeting the gullible student population in particular. No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
LED lights are nice, but expensive and not the place to start looking for savings. That gum you like is coming back in style.0

Many thanks, I have turned the Water and heating near minimum, before hot water used to burn hands now it does not, and heating is also turned down.
I was with SSE and last month switched to M&S. They sent me a break down of my usage for the last year which I quoted. Yes I am looking at LED light bulbs, I already have energy saving bulbs in the house. We have a washing machine/dryer, electric grill, toaster, fridge and microwave.
I am checking U switch, and SPARK came up as saving me pound 600, first utility pound 460.

M&S is SSE...it's jst a branded product.
Forget about toasters and microwaves, the vast bulk of your energy usage is for heating and hot water. then big consumption items such as tumble driers.
If you are heating and hot watering your property by gas, your electricity usage should be half what you quote-so where's it all going?
Do you have an immersion heater left on 24/7?
I have never seen Spark anywhere near the top of comp site quotes. Give your region, and someone can cross check. No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
No Immersion heaters, two computers and a tv /sky box, I am in London sw19. Spark was identified as a company they could not switch me to, recommendation was to use 'first utility'.

Strange, because a search on energyhelpline using your kWh figures gives F.U. as the cheapest variable tariff, followed by NPower and Eon. Spark are down in 19th place.
On fixed tariffs, they don't rank at all-Eon are cheapest.
Stop worrying about things like Sky boxes, focus on hot water and heating. No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -

What region are you using? I've done a quote in the EMEB region using the OPs figures and Spark Energy come top for me on their Spark Advance tariff (£1,816.64 per year). Next up are F.U then Npower then E.ON.
This was on uswitch btw.0 -
The OP is in SW19.No free lunch, and no free laptop0
