Raise floor in downstairs toilet

Options
Hi,

I have just bought a new house (1930s) and I'm about to start work on the downstairs toilet. The floor in this room is about 6 inches lower than the rst of the downstairs. It is covered with quarry tiles and I think it is solid concrete underneath. I plan to fit a new toilet and add a radiator but I'm not sure what to do with the floor. I had planned to raise the floor to the same level as the other floors but this is not possible as the toilet is under the stairs so the ceiling is too low in this area. My problem is the floor is cold and I want to do something so it isn't so cold for feet! I could probably raise the floor by about an ich but not much more than that. Do any of you have any ideas?

  • it's a shame you want to get rid of the floor, you are planning on adding a rad which will make the room warmer & also take the chill off of the tiles
I'm only here while I wait for Corrie to start.

You get no BS from me & if I think you are wrong I WILL tell you.

    Under floor heating?
  • an inch is not really enough for underfloor heating with a floor covering as well, you can get heated tiles for the floor it just seems a shame to lose the orginal quarry tiles
