GE Money/PPI advice

Hi
Im after a bit of advice regarding GE Money/PPI
I have been in touch with GE money and they have confirmed I had PPI with my mortgage, I told them I wish to make a claim and they have informed me that I have to make my claim with the broker (money group) and not them,
Can any one tell me if this is correct as I believed my claim would be with GE Money.
Would I be better off using a company to make the claim for me??
Any advice would be greatly appreciated, as at the moment im unsure of what to do
Many Thanks
Leanne

Hi there and welcome
It is correct that you pursue the business who sold/set up the finance.
Despite the main of the paperwork being that of the lender's.
The broker would have passed on your details/application onto the lender.
So I believe in your case you would have to contact Money Group.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
thanks for your reply, So do I just send the PPI Consumer questionair onto the Money Group?0

What reason do you have to make a claim.
Mortgage PPI and PPI are two entirely seperate things.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -

That is correct. You are making an allegation about a failing in the sale of the PPI. GE did not sell you PPI. The broker sold it to you.Would I be better off using a company to make the claim for me??
No. Figures show that claims companies do not increase the chances of success. Indeed, some actually reduce your chances.Any advice would be greatly appreciated, as at the moment im unsure of what to do
What is your complaint?

we was advised are chances of the morgage being agreed were greater if we took out Payment protection insurance to protect our loan repayments0 -
What is your complaint? that we were mis sold the PPI, we were advised we had a greater chance of mortgage being accepted if we took out PPI

that we were mis sold the PPI, we were advised we had a greater chance of mortgage being accepted if we took out PPI
And they respond: "we have no evidence to show that you were told that". So, what evidence do you have to support your allegation?back in 2004
That is the killer for you. Insurance regulation started in Jan 2005. Most brokers were not regulated until that point. So, they can turn around and say that they are not reviewing your complaint as it is prior to regulation.
So, you have a weak unprovable complaint that is pre-regulation.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only.
