Car insurance after 6 years in Spain

I am returning to the UK after 6 years in Spain and will not have any no claims bonus. I have been driving 40 years, with no claims in the past 10 years. I was with Linea-Directa in Spain but Direct-Line don't accept foreign proof of no claims. can anyone give me any tips on getting the best deal

See if a local broker (not swinton) can help find insurers who will accept your ncd.

Thanks Quentin, I am still in Spain until the end of November then I guess I will have to do some leg work. I was hoping to be able to use the comparison web sites but I thing that's not going to happen. So much has changed in the UK in 6 years.

Strange, Direct Line accepted my NCD accrued with Linea Directa in Spain.

Maybe you spoke to a muppet and I would try again. Unless they have changed their rules?

you could always try Biiba they can give you details
of a broker - more chance of finding one that will accept

Linea Directa is no longer part of Direct Line they accept NCB
from France and Italy but not Spain.

Adrian Flux have always found the cheapest for drivers with foreign licenses at least; I don't know about UK licenses from abroad.
