EBAY Collection problem
HJC2009
Hi, I won a set of shelves on Ebay and arranged to collect them with the seller, this was arranged over several emails (so not just one ).
Went to collect on Sat as arranged and no-one was in - I called hung around, the dog was barking, phoned and eventually put a note through the door.
I had agreed to cash on collection- so have not paid.
The seller has now contacted me to let me know her partner did not hear me and wants to arrange recollection, I am really annoyed as its a 30 mile round trip, so will cost me more than what the shelves are worth with two trips of petrol.
what would you guys do ..
Thanks for the advice

Depends if you really want the shelves.
I wouldn't bother going back again - a 30 mile drive is a long one & , as you say, costly. You have been messed about & I wouldn't feel at all guilty about pulling out of the deal.0 -
This happened to us with a sofa, we had paid a man with a van to be there too and when they eventually got back in touch [with the same excuse, even with the very loud barking dog], he delivered it for us the next day.
I'd insist that as I'd already spent X on fuel it's now up to them to get it to me.If you haven't got it - please don't flaunt it. TIA.0 -
Thanks, Have emailed her requesting to cancel.
She replied stating that her partner was in, but would re-list the item- now to see if i get an unpaid buyers strike.
Thanks for replying0
