are there any grants available to help with central heating. I have a combi boiler system and there was a power cut in my street for 12 hours a week ago. When the electricity went back on it done something to my boiler. It worked perfectly fine til then. I had 4 people look at it and had parts replaced but it is still not working. All four people said it was a power surge when the electric went back on but the electricity board are saying it must have been faulty already. they said to pay to get it fixed and put a claim in but they also said because no-one else in the street had reported any appliances faulty after the power cut that my claim would be rejected. its already really cold and i have no heating or hot water.

It is nice to see the value of your house going up'' Why ?
Unless you are planning to sell up and not live anywhere, I can;t see the advantage.
If you are planning to upsize the new house will cost more.
If you are planning to downsize your new house will cost more than it should
If you are trying to buy your first house its almost impossible.0 -

If you are a homeowner or the tenant of a private landlord you could be entitled to free central heating and other measures to heat your home, as well as insulation. This applies if you have never had a central heating system in your home and you or your partner is over 60, or, your home has a poor energy rating and you are either receipt of certain benefits or you or your partner is aged 75 plus.Disclaimer : Everything I write on this forum is my opinion.
