Energy comparison sites. Who do you believe?

I thinking of switching energy suppliers so I just entered our yearly energy consumption into USwitch and Money Supermarket.
Despite entering exactly the same figures into both, USwitch calculated our annual energy cost at £1600 and Money Supermarket came up with £1450. They both cam up with the same list of cheaper alternatives but Money Supermarket consistently estimated the annual savings at £70 more than Uswitch.
Am I missing something? Shouldn't they both come up with the same numbers?

In theory yes, but get a 3rd opinion. For that I have found theenergyshop consistently accurate. (As well as uSwitch BTW). The "culprit" should be obvious, the reason why may be less obvious. Error rather than intent probably.0 -
Ta. I have since got a third opinion from Energyhelpline and it is estimating annual spend at £1380 with yet another different set of estimated savings.
The actual costs are £1430 so USwitch are way out.
It seems these comparison sites are useful only as a guide and a visit to the supplier's own site (and a cashback site) is necessary before a switch is made.0 -
Are you using kWh or monthly payments? kWh is more accurate & consistent.
Are you currently on a fixed tariff? Some sites take into account your price will change in the next 12 months0
