Ideas for men's stockings(not the wearing kind!)

Hi All,

I know a number of people have been posting asking ideas for stockings and I'm afraid I'm going to be jumping on board too!

My partner and I do stockings for one another but this year I feel at quite a loss for what to add in it. With stockings for the females in the family I generally find it easy - makeup, beauty products, chocolate etc....however with a guy you have to be quite inventive to ensure you're not just wasting money which of course would be very unMSE.
I'd like to the keep the cost down per present so there are more in the stocking!

A little info as to the stocking receiver - mid20's guy - likes diy, unique items, raging sweet tooth and generally pretty easy going.

To be honest the only thing he isn't into football.

Any help would be greatly appreciated as I'm sure there are other women out there trying to think of little gift ideas for their partner.

  • About all I've bought so far is a USB memory stick. Would definitely fit in a stocking though!

I've previously bought small penknives, torches, emergency phone chargers, etc. You're lucky he has a sweet tooth - at least you'll be able to buy loads of candy/chocolate.
  • Try Candyhero.com

Lots of quirky sweet things on there that are both cheap and quite bulky :D

I've seen gadgety key-rings that are also mini tools or torches in Maplin for around £2.

What does he do for a job? If he works outdoors, lip balm? The huge majority are 'girly' but I have a hemp one from Bodyshop to put in my son's stocking.

    hand warmer.

Bloke ... easy .... just slide their favourite beers in it. Job done.
  • Thanks for your suggestions :) these all sound like great ideas! He works outside doing a lot of manual labour and has just taken up plastering so perhaps tools and mini torches are a good idea.
Also I think I will have to cram as many types of chocolate in there as possible to bulk it up and maybe a beer or two

Working outside could you get hand warmer, little flask, warm socks, thermals (or running/walking layer gear) a hat, fingerless gloves. If he is doing appointments etc a Filofax so it has diary & a bit for notes.
  • I'm glad I found this thread...there are some really good ideas and I need a few!

A couple of things I have come up with:
Gloves for using touch screen devices (my partner likes tech! need to find a pair that look nice and don't cost the earth now, suggestions welcome)
Nivea for Men shaving/skin care stuff (sort of for me too because I love the smell!)
    headphone cable tidy
Common sense?...There's nothing common about sense!
