Vet. Does Our Pet Understand?

Not sure you'll appreciate this, but...
He's frightened, angry and in pain. Anyone could be snappy in the situation - then add in that he doesn't really understand why he's being poked around.
As soon as the pain is gone, Padstow, all he will be able to think of is how much he wants you, his world. And once he sees you back for him, he will be over the moon, delighted that you have come.
He won't hold it against you at all.I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll

I took Orbit to the vet to get fixed, afterwards he sat there glaring at me for hours on end....lol
After that as soon as I got the carrier out it was like Tom & Jerry trying to catch him to put him in the carrier!0 -
My cat doesn't mind the vet too much but hates the carrier - as soon as I go near the cupboard it's in he hides! It's got to the point I have to close him in one room before getting it out.
Then when you get him in he cries like someone is abusing him which makes me feel so guilty! Of course as soon as we get to the vet he's good as gold
carpe diem

Orbit didn't like any women vets,he'd go mental but he didn't mind the man vet.I reckon it was because my ex GF abused him...0

I leave one of my cat carriers out all the time, it's a handy place to throw the toys when tidying up and it's got a comfy blanket in it so you often find one of our three cats asleep in it. So they don't associate it with inevitable stress. None of them mind the vet much either, I make a point of being pretty laid back about these things whether I'm taking an animal or child for medical attention and I'm sure it rubs off.
I'm also very no-nonsense when I get in there, I'm sure the cat (or child) would rather I held it firmly than a complete stranger that smells odd so I'm pretty adept at pinning small struggling creatures down on examining tables. They don't seem to hold it against me, they get some tuna for a treat when they get home (stickers and sweeties work better with kids) if allowed and then it's buisiness as usual.Val.0 -
Most mornings, OH walks our dog. On a Sunday I meet my sister and we walk our dogs together. Whilst I am gobbling down my bran flakes at 7am my dog cries and cries and cries. He never does this during the week when I am having breakfast.
He absolutely must know it is Sunday or why else would he do it? I have some tracky bottoms I wear to walk him in on Sundays but I also wear them when I am gardening. We don't stop playing because we grow old; We grow old because we stop playing.0 -
Far from a walk, more a carry through the house to his bed. Zonked out.I'm sure he will forgive you. We always go for a walk round the park after the vets to make it all OK again
More shaking of the head than before the seed removal.
Ear under the flap very hot. Applied cold flannel. He's sleeping now.
Vet 1pm friday for check up.0 -
Boy boy has flicked his head far more than ever before the seed removal.
Lifted his ear and it was red hot.
I applied a cold flannel, changing it twice and he is now doing the equivalent to purring in his bed.
Thank goodness.0 -
Yes but he'd had an anaesthetic, not quite the same as a walk around the park.I'm sure he will forgive you. We always go for a walk round the park after the vets to make it all OK again
I took my Jaffa for a walk around the park before taking him to his death. Something I will never come to terms with.0
