problem with KGB deals and the gadget folk

Hi, I am looking for advice on how to get a refund for a delivery charge from an online shop for non delivery of a product purchased using a KGB deals voucher.

I recently purchased a voucher through KGB deals for a 3 in 1 steam mop through an online shop called " the gadget folk" On top of the voucher payment I also had to pay the gadget folk a seperate £4.99 for delivery which I did through paypal. It was supposed to be a 28 day delivery service. After waiting more than 28 days and not receiving the item I tried contacting the gadget folk several times to see where my order was but they completely ignored all my messages. In the end I contacted KGB deals to report the problem. They said due to unforeseen circumstances the merchant was unable to deliver. They issued me with a refund for the voucher value but not the delivery charge made through the gadget folk website. I tried to set up a dispute with the gadget folk in a bid to get a refund for the delivery charge using paypal but as more than 45 days had elapsed I could not do this. KGB deals are not being very helpful in this matter only offering a voucher to the value of £4.99 which I am not happy to use considering how unreliable the merchants they represent are. On top of this the online shop "the gadget folk" are ignoring all my emails requesting a refund for the delivery charge. I know its not a great sum of money but I dont like the idea that someone can just take money from you and not deliver. Can anyone offer advice please ?

Thanks for the advice. Actually got an email from KGBdeals customer service a few minutes ago in response to yet another message I sent to them. They are indeed going to send out a cheque for the delivery charge after all. Seems that persistence pays!
  • I have been asking KGB for a refund for a bed that was ordered in September but we still haven't received. We were promised 3 delivery dates and KGB are not answering my e-mails when I ask for a refund and they don't answer their phones so I can't talk to them. Furious is not the word!!!!

Jenny not sure if this help but when I contacted KGB deals I went through their customer support help page, clicked on "deal concerns "and then the "ask a question" link. Not sure if you have already done this or not . They responded to my message pretty quickly and then every time after that when contacting them I clicked on the history link that brings up all the correspondence relating to the initial complaint so you can add to it.

I dont think they are vetting the merchants they are representing well enough. I never ever got a response from "the gadget folk ". Hope you get it resolved !
  • Hi pm3 - just wondering if you had any luck with kgb or gadget folk?

I've had exactly the same problem and despite trying to explain to kgb that they should have responsibility for setting up deals with fraudulent companies and should refund me the postage & packaging myself!

I've just emailed them a third time to that effect. Just wondering if you had any luck?
