I am a self-employed taxi driver and have fully comp private hire insurance with RSA.
just found this doesn't include income protection if I can't work or my car if off the road through an accident which isn't my fault.
any recommendations?

You should look at permanent health insurance. That is the type of income protection that you need for health purposes.
As for taxi being off the road, I don't know as commercial insurance is not my speciality.
