Blue fox drink from SPAR

Does anyone on forun know of this drink, my granddaughter who's 10 claims it's sort of alcaholic, and that she and her friends are able to purchase it themselves, so any information if this really alchaholic, before I do my RAMBO IMMPRESSION AT HER LOCAL STORE, Will be appreciated. Alan

  • It sounds like their own brand of energy drink to me, have googled but didn';t see anything useful. Hopefully someone else will have some better info for you.

I'd still be concerned about her drinking it though - many stores won't sell Red Bull/similar to under 16s, I've always assumed it's because of the high caffiene etc.

I thought that the one the Spar sold was called Blue Bear, I could be wrong. It is a energy drink like Red Bull, high caffeine, sugary sweet tasting drink.

Blue Bear is Spar's 'own label' energy/stimulation drink. It contains NO alcohol, don't worry.

10 year old's will be able to purchase it (in some places) as it is classed as a soft drink, though as naughty says some stores may not sell it to under 16's. That would be a guideline though, not the law I believe, so your granddaughter is fine to buy this drink and is not doing anything wrong(although drinking it is a whole other matter, due to the sugar and caffeine content!).

Any drink such as red bull etc I would not want my husband drinking, let alone my kids. They are full of stimulants - rubbish that children just don't need. They are addictive and next thing you know they can't function without their daily 'fix'. Look at how people are with coffee etc.

I don't even give my kids lucozade UNLESS they have had a bout of illness, partaking in sports etc. My son is more than happy drinking water when he is thirsty and certainly requires no stimlulants!

If you look at the ingredients list on red bull and lucozade you will find they are very similar. I think good old marketing makes us think lucozade is better for you. After all we all had it as a child when we were poorly didnt we? and red bull is to mix with vodka isnt it? Similar product different marketing
