taking the michael

hi everyone,im new to this forum, just have a bit of steam to let off about a person i know is taking the mick big time.(IMO)

well to cut a long story short she is a single mother claiming the "lot" living in a flat with her young child, but a bloke has started recently living there,i know for a fact he is earning a lot of money for the area we live in,and that he also has a council dwelling, which he has started to sublet.also i have a strong suspicion that he is the father of the child, but not on paper.
what are the chances of them getting caught out,as i dont want to grass,i just want a lesson to be learnt

  • How do you know for certain that she is fraudulently claiming? She may not be now that the man has come to live there.

Report her to Benefits Fraud, if you think she fits the bill, you can do it anonymously if you wish.

Imagine someone holding forth on biology whose only knowledge of the subject is the Book of British Birds, and you have a rough idea of what it feels like to read Richard Dawkins on theology: Terry Eagleton
  • i know a lot more than i have let on,just very worried about tipping off, dont want it to get nasty as they will suspect its me straight away if they know theres been a tip off

How do you know for certain she is committing fraud? The man may not be living at the premises, he may not even be her boyfriend, it might be her brother. How do you know he is subletting his property? He could have a friend to stay over or is could be his relatives coming to visit. How do you know he is earning a lot of money? It could be a voluntary job or he could be doing jobs for people to keep busy while he's claiming benefit. How do you know he's the father of the children?

If you still strongly suspect fraud after reading this report it. The DSS will soon do something about it if they are.
