Boarded Up Window After Attempted burglary

Hi,Anyone know where i stand legally after attempted burglary left wooden window frame damaged beyond repair.The window has been boarded up but landlord so far not happy with quotes he has received for replacement frame so is continuing to source more.Soon coming up to 3 weeks since the attempted burglary so am just wondering if i have any legal rights?Is the boarded window classed ok for insurance purposes?

Is 3 weeks an unreasonable time...when we ordered new windows it took 4 weeks for them to be made?
our insurance company were aware of the tempory boarding and as it had been done by their approved person I assumed all to be ok.frugal October...£41.82 of £40 food shopping spend for the 2 of us!
