Will bamboo screening damage a fence?

Half our garden has been out-of-bounds as the neighbour owns the fence and where it drops to 4' it's inadequate to keep our dogs inside. Obviously this is our problem, not the neighbour's, and I don't expect them to have to worry about it - hence having just sectioned off that part of the garden until we could do a workaround.
Our quick-fix idea for a solution (one we've used across the middle of the garden to keep them out of the unsecure back half) is bamboo screening - the dogs see that it is tall and have made no attempt to jump it, so although it's not the sturdiest, it should do the job (the dogs aren't left out unattended anyway so it's just an immediate deterrent to stop them hopping over it after a squirrel or anything)
However, I'm wondering if, longterm, it will have an impact on the neighbour's fence? The last thing I want to do is cause their fence to get damaged, e.g. creating a damp environment and allowing mould to grow on it.
Are there any considerations to make when putting screening across a fence? We don't plan to nail it on or anything as we don't want to make any kind of modication to the neighbours fence - we may just perhaps use some wire to support the upper portion of the screening (as we'll be going for 6' tall stuff), which we can run from the garage wall to a conveniently located apple tree. Other than that, it will just be propped up along the fence - unless it would be better to leave a ventilation gap? We could perhaps install some posts to attach it to on our side if this would be better.

What about some black Tensar type netting which is heavy duty enough to do the job without the rot associated with natural products? Tensar is expensive, but there are similar brands out there around 2m high.

We use this stretched on wires between posts above sheep fencing + poultry net to keep foxes out of our chicken run. It's surprisingly unobtrusive.

If I were using it as a stand-alone, I'd probably mount the stuff on high tensile wire, tensioned up using galvanised ratchet fittings, or Bayer monofilament, but I'm a perfectionist! :)
