Cunnungham &lindsay are the worst, they lie, cheat fabricate what you say, after a clear storm damage they came, one approved the claim , no contact for one week (called wearing the claimant down), you can not talk to any one and if you do they make an excuse the one who deals with the issue is not there, you phone and phone.....nothing. YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TO ASK FOR ANOTHER COMPANY OF ADJUSTERS DO NOT LET THEM NEAR YOUR PROPERTY,they will not pay as this is make them popular with the insurance company and get business from them.. the branch i dealt with was Glasgow. i did and got another more reasonable adjusters.

I would be interested to know if you have evidence of this?!!

I can understand why people would think this but in reality most adjusting companies work either on a % of the loss basis, a hourly rate or banded structure if the claim is settled, whereas a repudiation for a small non major loss job would invariably be on a set rate. It is almost always better for the adjuster to accept a claim as they would get paid more.

DL and the rest of the RBS group measured their storm work (farmed out to CL, Davies and smaller players) on a complaints ratio rather than a decline ratio. Not sure if it is still the same.

    Thank you, my point exactly.

General household loss adjusters receive such a low fee from insurers the service nowadays is unfortunately poor.

This is across the board not just CL

This lot have been appointed by my home insurers for my first ever insurance claim of any sort (leak from the toilet).

I'll be honest, I had no idea that insurers farmed out the actual work that results from their business to third parties.

I was told the guy coming would be at my home for quite a while - not sure what that means to them but he was here no more than 10 minutes according to my partner.

He asked for single quotes only to replace the bathroom floor and flooring but seemingly made no notes relating to water damaged items below or the ceiling in the hallway.

Hopefully it doesn't complicate matters that we are taking the opportunity to completely refurbish the bathroom from top to bottom. It was 'on the list' before but it makes sense to get it done now.
