Tumble dryer placement

We are looking at getting a tumble dryer, as with the weather changing and work patterns, putting washing outside is getting impossible
We have our washing machine in an area off our back door, and were looking at putting the tumble dryer on top of it.
There is about 5 inches clearance on either side of the washer, so would we be able to put a sturdy shelf up ( got a piece of kitchen worktop that would fit ) with battons on 3 sides and a raised edge on the top to prevent the dryer sliding forward?
The other option is a proper stacking kit, but our washer is bow fronted and i have read that these stacking kits might not fit properly

Why waste money on a stacking kit, when it sounds as if you are quite capable of putting up a suitable shelf to separate the two machines.I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.0 -
I did answer but it has obviously been deleted.
I am not prepared to answer the same question twice so you will have to enquire with the moderators as to why my post was removed.

Just ensure there is sufficient air flow for inlet and exhaust if condensing, make sure the support is secure and strap it down with a commercial grade tie down belt across the top along the sides without door and back to prevent it tipping on children and the vertically challenged.0

My last and present drier sit/s directly on the washer, no shelf or separation or anything else.
Ok, tries to go walkabout if a heavy unbalanced load is washed, but still works for us.
It simply sits on felt pads.I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)

The posts were deleted, because again, you linked your answer into your own website, from where you sell from. You do not have permission to post like that on here, hence the reason why I reported you.0 -
Which is fine, if it were the case that or the intent was, to sell.
It was not.
It was merely to point the OP to the information needed and to save me from either copying and pasting, which is also probably a breach of some rule, even although since I wrote the articles, I own the copyright.
Therefore, if I or others are not allowed to link to other informational site that have the answer/s that the poster seeks, what's the point in replying?
I suppose, had I linked to a bargain on Amazon, Ebay, Apple, (who also all sell things BTW) or a host of others that would also be a breach of the rules? So, is it the case that the policy is, no external linking or, is it a case of, no external linking because of who you are even if they are used in context and are correct?
It seems to me that you have applied the latter.
And, that's absolutely fine, no issue with it whatsoever if you wish MSE to be run in that manner.
I on the other hand, do not agree with that point of view.
I have many more things to do with my time that come on this forum (which I do not profit from whatsoever) and offer free help or advice (which I make no money from) to very often people that are less fortunate and require the help.
Therefore, I feel that I no longer take part in these forums if this is the policy since I do not agree with it.

There are a hell of a lot of retailers, who view and post on this board, who offer advice to consumers on a daily basis. Myself included.
This is a site for advice, legal avice and information gathering and also one to let off steam. If everyone else is unable to promote themselves, why should you. Over a long period of time, you have posted responses regarding white goods, in most cases, you have linked to your own website. I would hazard a guess that you have had at least one consumer, view your website and purchase something from it. This is against the spirit of this website.
Links to sites like amazon etc are fine , as they are giving an example. You seem to want to promote your own website and articles you have written, which is self promotion, which is barred.
I have a website myself, but wouldn't consider linking to it, mainly so I can have a bit of peace when I come home at night, without PM's asking how much is this, what product is that, Can you do that cheaper etc.
You just seem to be a poster who gives out info for his own gain, that is why I reported you. If your intenet was only to give information, the very fact that you put a link in, helps you get your own website, higher up in the google search engine, when someone clicks on your link.
There is nothing stopping you from posting again, just refrain from posting links to your own website, like every other retailer who posts on here does0 -
Actually, you are factually incorrect.
I only link to articles where it is appropriate and actually helps. It also helps me from repeating the same thing over and over.
If you look back at my posts you will also see a rather considerable amount that have no links whatsoever, despite your accusation to the contrary. You obviously have poorly researched your argument.
Whether any MSE users have ever bought anything, no idea, don't care and no interest in knowing either as that isn't the point.
Your judgement is based on assumption and, to be blunt, seems a punitive attitude to adopt. Obviously the MSE moderators agree with that stand and I have to respect that choice.
I do think that you might have actually bothered to ask however, rather than diving in as you did with the "report".
I could understand if I was spamming and, I have reported spam on here before for exactly what I believe that you are accusing me of, directly trying to sell using MSE. And, I've no truck with that. But to link it to a "you have a link to a shop" is preposterous when the link is valid and offers the person asking the answer or information that they need IMO.
My area of expertise is with appliances, I will rarely if ever drift away from that area and I will try to provide people with help if I can do so. What I will not do is rewrite the same information that I have already written detailed information on elsewhere, nor would I presume to think that this was the place to paste that into.
So, if this is the policy now on MSE then that's absolutely fine as I've already said. But, it means that there is now little point in myself or other specialists trying to help or direct people to the correct answers to specific issues if they are barred from doing so.
You may as well just use Google or, alternatively, accept that the information that you may get from non-professionals is liable to be wrong or incomplete.
But you won, good for you.

Well I've spammed the pair of you, simply on equality grounds, :AI like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
